ChatGPT, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) language model, has teamed up with Hedera Hashgraph, a public distributed ledger platform, to enable secure and seamless interactions between ChatGPT and the Hedera network. This collaboration leverages the decentralized features of blockchain networks, such as the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), the Hedera Token Service (HTS) and the Smart Contract Service.
Developer Ed Marquez shared a step-by-step guide on how to create a ChatGPT plugin that interacts with Hedera on Twitter. The plugin focuses on retrieving the token balances of Hedera accounts, including HBAR, the native cryptocurrency of Hedera Hashgraph, as well as fungible tokens and nonfungible tokens (NFTs) created on Hedera. The plugin uses the mirror node REST API to access the account information, which is returned in tinybars (tℏ), where 100,000,000 tℏ equals 1 ℏ. Users can also view their account balances through a Network Explorer.
The plugin can be installed and enabled within the ChatGPT user interface, allowing users to chat with ChatGPT and ask about their HBAR and token balances on Hedera. The plugin will then send requests to the Hedera mirror node API and provide the relevant information.
This integration enhances the reliability and trustworthiness of AI-generated content by using blockchain technology to verify its origin and integrity. It also allows users to enjoy low-cost and fast transactions, access premium content and participate in tokenized economies. Moreover, it opens the door for the development of decentralized applications (dApps) that combine the strengths of both AI and blockchain, such as decentralized marketplaces, collaborative platforms and user rewards
