The collaboration aims to bring the metaverse right into viewers’ living homes. To obtain the metaverse into viewers’ living rooms, South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics announced partnerships with cloud-based technology platforms Oorbit and Pixelynx, a business developing an integrated music, gaming, and Web3 environment.

The partnership will simplify users’ participation in the metaverse by enabling viewers to explore linked virtual worlds, concerts, and AI multiplayer games through their LG TVs.

Users will have access to “ultra high fidelity linked virtual worlds” and activities, such as virtual concerts and AI-generative multiplayer games, according to a press statement on January 4.

Co-founder and Oorbit’s chief technology officer Pooya Koosha shared:

“Our in-house developed technology is the thread that binds virtual worlds together and makes it simple for brands and developers to introduce their experiences into the metaverse. The next stage in making the metaverse available to everyone is scaling our technology for millions of LG TV consumers.

LG Electronics amended its corporate growth objectives to embrace cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based applications in March 2022. According to a South Korean news outlet, LG added two unique crypto-related goals during its annual general meeting: both “the sale and brokerage of cryptocurrencies” and “the creation and distribution of blockchain-based technologies.”
